WORK HISTORY

Jan 2013 – Present Senior Network Engineer, ManTech-IST, Chantilly, VA

Assigned to a Navy contract in Chantilly, Virginia working with Solarwinds NetFlow Analyzer, and Network Performance Monitor.  I am scheduled to attend Solarwinds Orion Core 101 Course in August 2015.  Additionally, I support three networks at the Chantilly site.  While waiting approval for my access tickets, I volunteered to work with the deployment team which consisted of configuration and installation of Black and Red side Routers, Switches, and TACLANE KG-175D Micros.  During my assignment, I setup five new sites within Virginia.

 

Jun 05 – Dec 2012  Principle Network Engineer, ManTech-IST, Chantilly, VA

Assigned to a Navy contract in Crystal City, Arlington, VA.  Configured, installed and utilized Cisco TACACS+, and ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer on two separate networks.  Configured and installed Cisco Catalyst 3550s 4503s and 4506s as part of a major upgrade throughout all sites.  Throughout the periods 2008 to the Present, completed establishment of seven additional new sites that consisted of requesting a T-1 line from Verizon, acquiring quotes and ordering all equipment which included Routers, Switches, Servers, Backup Tape devices, TACLANEs, etc., and then installing and configuring same.  Upgraded all existing sites with the new TACLANE KG-175D Micros.  This included configuring, installing and keying same with the old SDS Loaders, and the new Simple Key Loader (SKL).

I was supposed to be trained in Network Attached Storage (NAS), but due to no new installations ever occurring, I was never trained.  Due to this, I finally decided to resign.

 

Jan 00 – Dec 2004   Senior Network Engineer, Maden Tech, Arlington, VA

Assigned to the DARPA TIC for the purpose of Research and Development of LAN/WAN Software and Hardware.  I have extensive hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches, and Microsoft Windows 2000, NT 4.0 (Server and Professional), Microsoft Exchange 5.5 and Exchange 2000 Server.  Other experience includes installation, configuration and maintenance of two (2) Cisco PIX 515E Firewalls with Failover, Cisco Intrusion Detection System 4215, Cisco Switches such as the 2912 Fiber Switches, 3550 12 Port Gigabit, 3550 100FX MMF (MTRJ), 3550 Catalyst Switches, 3524 Catalyst Switches, 5505 Switch with Route Switch Module, Cisco Routers such as the 2500, 2600, 3600, and 7500 Series, Nortel Contivity 1510 and 1700 VPN Switch.  Hardware platform experience includes DELL Workstations, Servers, Tape Backup, numerous HP Printers and Plotters.  I established/manage NIPRNET, working with DISA, starting with the initial submission of a Request for Service (RFS), and once approved, installed, configured a Cisco 2621Router, and all Cisco Switches.  Installed/configured a Pix 515E Firewall with Failover, which included a DMZ consisting of a Cisco Intrusion Detection System (IDS). This network included Windows 2000 Servers, with DNS Servers, inside and outside, Exchange 2000, and a WEBSENSE Server.  Installed/configured a PIX 515E with Failover on a commercial network.  Furthermore, configured a DMZ that contained a Web Server and the (IDS).  I am assigned as the Secondary for SIPRNET and JWICS.

 

Sep 98 – Jan 00    Network Engineer, Maden Tech Consulting, Inc., Arlington, VA

Assigned as a LAN/WAN Engineer for Corporate.  Responsibilities included configuring CISCO Routers and Switches when required.  Furthermore, I was assigned to two separate contracts for WAN establishment and other networking requirements.   Maden Tech Y2K Coordinator.  Utilizing Norton 2000, installed on every Maden Tech Computer, ran analysis, viewed logs, then took appropriate action to correct all Y2K noted errors.  Action completed prior to January 2000, and no Y2K problems were ever encountered.   Installed and configured a Firewall for corporate utilizing Raptor 6.0. 

 

Nov 97 – Sep 98  Network Engineer, Maden Tech Consulting, Inc., Arlington, VA

Responsibilities include the Administration of a NetWare 3.11, NetWare 3.12, NetWare 4.11, and a Windows NT 4.0 Network consisting of 10 Servers, installation and configuration of Win 95 and NT Workstations, and a Server as a PDC and several BDCs utilizing DHCP, DNS, WINS and RAS, Hardware and Software issues, creating and managing users environment, installing, managing network applications, troubleshooting, monitoring the file servers, performing routing maintenance, administration of Microsoft Exchange 5.0, performing daily backups utilizing ARCServe 6.5 for the Corporate Headquarters, and also provide support for the remote sites in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and California.  Upgraded Exchange 5.0 to 5.5 at our Corporate and a New Jersey site.  Upgrade all Servers at New Jersey site.  Established redundancy DNS, DHCP, WINS, Exchange 5.5, and Print Servers.

 

May 00- Present   Network Engineer, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Arlington, VA

(PART-TIME) Assigned to the Mid-Shift (Weekends) in the DISA Network Control Center monitoring the World Wide DISANET via HP Open-view (Classified and Unclassified Networks), which includes, Email Monitoring, Classified Circuits, Firewall, Web Sites, and initiating/monitoring Remedy Tickets.  Monitor NIPRNET/SIPRNET circuits and perform reloads of crypto equipment such as KIV-7, KIV-19, KG-94, and KG-175 TACLANE encryption devices.   Manage the routing of over 30 DISA National Capitol Region electronic mail post offices including Microsoft Outlook/Exchange e-mail servers.
